Sorin Adam, vores Robot Safety Software Specialist, har besøgt universitetet i Ulm

Struer November 28, 2015

Sorin Adam, our Robot Safety Software Specialist currently studying an Industrial PhD at the University of Southern Denmark, is about to finalize a 10 weeks stay in Germany.

Sorin has been visiting fellow researchers at the University of Applied Sciences in Ulm (see https://www.hs-ulm.de/en/), Germany, where he has been working with the service robotics team (see http://www.servicerobotik-ulm.de/drupal/) headed by Professor Dr. Christian Schlegel.

The team in Ulm has its research focus on Model Driven Software Development (MDSD) for Robotics, and they are the creators of the SmartMDSD Toolchain and the SmartSoft framework, a component approach for robotics software based on communication patterns as core of a robotics component model. They use the framework and the toolchain in building service robots.

The visit has been a perfect opportunity for Sorin to study new and important robot safety standards.

A little known fact about Ulm is that the city was the birth place of Albert Einstein.
