Another successful TBMI-Challenge at Conpleks
For the fourth time out of four possible, Conpleks has participated in a TBMI-Challenge led by a group of very motivated and skilled students from Aarhus University Herning.
The yearly TBMI-Challenge is the culmination of the course TBMI for students in the master’s degree program in technology-based business development at Aarhus University Herning. TBMI stands for Technological Business Model Innovation. The essence is to build or improve companies’ business models based on technology.
During the TBMI-Challenge, the students are visiting companies all around the Western part of the Central Denmark Region to solve actual cases. To finalize the challenge, the students hand in a report that describes, how the companies can benefit from business opportunities and technologies. This year’s challenge included 29 local companies.
New perspectives
Based on previous experiences, Conpleks always expects some busy days during the TBMI-Challenge, as the students are really enthusiastic and interested in the case. This year’s group definitely met the expectations and luckily, due to the great facilities in BusinessPark Struer, it was possible to host the challenge physically despite of Corona.
– We have participated in TBMI from the very beginning as the outcome is wide ranging. The challenge itself gives us an opportunity to deeply investigate potential concepts and new business areas, while we meet potential future employees. At the same time, the students can put their theoretical skills to the test on actual, real issues and get a glimpse of how a company operates, states Tom Simonsen, CEO at Conpleks.
Local awareness
Besides Conpleks, Struer Municipality also sees the great potential in getting a visit from young students almost ready for their first job. During the days, the students spend in Struer, they get to see the area, which hopefully will make a positive impact and make them more likely to apply for a job within a company in Struer in the future.
The students, who visited Conpleks, were literarily blown away by the nature around Struer and by the sand storm that hit the area. Besides that, they were amazed by the dedication the employees and especially the CEO at Conpleks showed a student project. Additionally, they were surprised and grateful for the goodie bag from Struer Municipality.
The mild western winds of Jutland teased the students
